Hyundai Ioniq 5

The vehicle will not turn off. I returned it to the Dealer, Oakland Hyundai, and their service department has had the vehicle since 7/27/26. When I brought the vehicle in to service it had 2,519 miles. Service rep has advised that technicians are trying to find the faulty part and have been unsuccessful to date. While driving on the freeway with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance on heading east into the morning sun my car suddenly attempted to veer strongly to the left as I exited the shadow of an overpass. I was able to stop the lane assist because I had a firm two handed grip on the steering wheel. Even with the firm grip and attentive driving I nearly left my lane as the wheels suddenly and strongly jerked to the left.

My car starting throwing a “check electric vehicle system” warning intermittently beginning on July 7, 2026 which went away when I restarted the car. This happened again on July 27, 2026 three to four times while I was driving. The car did not lose power. As I was going to dealer the warning cleared and no code showed up in my diagnostic history. Failure of the iccu. Needed complete replacement under warranty. Unable to charge via any AC charger. The iccu had already been repaired under an existing recall.

After car has been parked, when trying to start car , car turns on briefly saying 12 v battery low come to safe stop. Then car dies. Car isn’t in motion since it’s been parked. First time it happened I needed a tow truck and the tow truck needed to jump my battery. Since then battery keeps dying when trying to start this has happened every time I start the car since July 11 2026

ICCU failure. Failure happened while merging onto the road from driveway. Upon failure, 12 V battery was drained and car was immobilized. Prior to car mobilization dash read “Check electrical vehicle system” then many different failures appeared on the dash, then the car shut down. While driving on normal paved roads, a small vibration was heard from the rear of the vehicle. A person near the car when leaving the origin that morning heard a minor clicking sound at low speed from the rear of the vehicle. The vibration at that point seemed to be related to the rural mountain road that had some rutting. Two tires failed dramatically, (on two separate days, but separated by only 121 miles of driving), causing extensive damage the first time and causing a total loss the second time. The first tire has been disposed of, but the second is available still. Each was on the highway and luckily there was not much traffic so I was able to pull safely onto the shoulder each time.
